Senior Benefits ManagerThe Senior Manager, Benefits & Wellness is responsible for the planning, development, management, and administration of the various benefit and leave programs including health and wellness, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement programs. Responsibilities include recommending new and improved benefit and wellness programs, evaluating cost-saving measures, managing the renewal and enrollment processes, ensuring compliance with benefit regulations and reporting requirements, and directing all benefit billing and reconciliation. Accountability includes guidance to 3rd party call-center support staff and relationship management of benefit consultants, vendors, brokers, and necessary legal experts.
Oversee the day‑to‑day administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, COBRA, and 401k plan while maintaining service quality.
Manage U.S. leave programs (FMLA, parental, disability) and Workers Compensation partners to ensure accurate, compliant, employee‑focused case handling.
Plan and execute modifications to existing benefits programs as well as implementation of new programs including plan design and contribution strategy.
Create, enhance, and implement initiatives that focus on wellness.
Continually assess and improve benefits processes ensuring the company is up to date and current with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Manage the annual open enrollment process including renewals, Workday system set up, employee education and support, and vendor file feed updates.
Develop relationships with brokers/carriers to facilitate issue resolution, benchmark services, and promote partnership opportunities.
Direct preparation and distribution of communications to educate employees on benefit programs and promote consumer driven health care initiatives.
Develop and oversee Benefits budget including ongoing vendor payments.
Proactively maintain an understanding of benefits related compliance requirements and trends related to Health Care Reform, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA.
Position Requirements
Minimum 8 years of benefits experience in plan design & administration, cost management, and analysis.
Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree a plus.
Professional Human Resources or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) a plus
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
Experience with overseeing fully insured and self-insured plans
Collaborative communication style with high level of influencing, diplomacy, negotiating and consulting skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, organization and interpersonal skills.
Workday benefits management experience a plus.
Compensation
Base Salary Range: $148,351.35 USD to $200,710.65 USDFactors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
