VFX Production Managers work in tandem with a VFX Producer on a project and are responsible for the project schedule. They oversee the work of VFX Production Coordinators on their daily follow-ups to ensure the schedule stays on track. In collaboration with the VFX Producer, they ensure that the project is properly resourced and for the right duration.
Main Responsibilities
Schedule Planning and Management
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including key milestones, priorities, and deliverables.
- Work collaboratively with the Producer to ensure the schedule and budget are met.
- Evaluate workload and adjust planning accordingly.
Resource Allocation and Coordination
- Oversee the allocation of resources (team, equipment, tools) ensuring efficient management.
- Work with Department Heads and Supervisors to assign tasks to artists based on priorities and skills.
- Monitor the complexity of assigned tasks to ensure they align with initial estimates.
Production Monitoring and Problem Solving
- Ensure rigorous follow-up with artists and production teams to identify and quickly resolve issues.
- Anticipate potential challenges and implement solutions to avoid delays.
- Participate in weekly production meetings to ensure effective project monitoring.
- Client Communication and Follow-up
- Liaise with clients to provide clear and regular updates on project status.
- Prepare and deliver detailed weekly status reports.
- Participate in client approval meetings to ensure deliverables meet expectations.
Quality Control and Deliverables Management
- Ensure that the work delivered meets Rodeo FX's quality standards and client requirements.
- Coordinate the deliverable review and validation process, ensuring feedback is addressed effectively.
