Applied Materials’ Austin Engineering Department is searching for an intern to join our team in summer 2027! Research and rapid development group designing, procuring, testing, and iterating prototype parts as part of a team including physicists, EEs, and software experts. The position will entail the following: 

2027 Summer internship program start/end date:

Monday, May 17 - Friday, August 6

• CAD modeling in Creo or Solidworks 
• Mechanical design and FEA of components 
• Working with suppliers on rapid prototyping and best manufacturing methods 
• Designing experiments to test prototype assembly and iterate/improve design as needed
   

Requirements 

• Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering 
• Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale 
• Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred 
• Quick learner

$31 - $41 per hour

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
