Lead mechanical engineering design packages for underground mining, materials handling and fixed-plant projects.
Undertake conveyor design and analysis using recognised software such as Sidewinder or Belt Analyst, including sizing, power calculations, dynamic assessment and design optimisation. Apply bulk-solids handling principles to bins, chutes, feeders, transfer stations and ore-handling systems to support reliable operation and maintainability.
Prepare calculations, equipment specifications, datasheets, scopes of work, technical evaluations and design reports. Lead the design and integration of crushing, screening, conveying, pumping, dewatering, dust-management and ventilation-related systems.
Develop practical dust-suppression, extraction and containment solutions for abrasive, high-throughput materials-handling environments. Coordinate civil, structural, electrical, process, controls, ventilation and geotechnical interfaces.
Lead or contribute to technical reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, constructability reviews and design verification. Support procurement, vendor engagement, tender evaluation, construction, commissioning and operational-readiness activities.
Mentor engineers and designers and contribute to consistent technical standards and lessons learned.
