Indian River Hospital’s 3E Additional Care Unit provides telemetry and medical services for various cardiac conditions.As an RN on this team, you will learn and enhance your nursing skills through hands-on patient care experience.Your role is essential to ensuring all patients feel encouraged, safe and at ease while receiving treatment. APRN caregiver in this position worksvarying nightsfrom6:45PM– 7:15AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate,updateand revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administerprescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school ofProfessionalNursing(Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS)certificationthrough the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Oneyear of current acute care RN experienceORlicensedmilitary RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’sofScience inNursing (BSN)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
