JOB OVERVIEW
The Carpenter is responsible for carrying out carpentry, repair, maintenance, and installation works throughout the hotel. The role ensures that furniture, doors, fixtures, fittings, and other wooden elements are maintained to the highest standards of quality, safety, and appearance, supporting both hotel operations and the overall guest experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform carpentry repairs, maintenance, installation, and modification works throughout the hotel.
- Repair and maintain doors, locks, frames, cabinets, furniture, shelving, partitions, and other wooden fixtures.
- Inspect furniture, fixtures, and wooden installations to identify damage, defects, or maintenance requirements.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules and work orders.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas, offices, and back-of-house areas.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, install, and finish wood and other materials according to required specifications.
- Repair and restore furniture and decorative wooden elements while maintaining hotel quality and appearance standards.
- Install and adjust doors, hinges, locks, handles, cabinets, shelving, and related fittings.
- Read and follow drawings, measurements, technical instructions, and work specifications when required.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and correctly.
- Ensure all completed work meets hotel quality, safety, and operational standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Monitor carpentry materials and spare parts and report replenishment requirements when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and repair activities.
- Coordinate with other Engineering team members and hotel departments when carrying out maintenance work.
- Support hotel projects, renovations, installations, and operational requirements when needed.
- Follow all health, safety, and fire prevention procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering management.
