6400 is a 26-bed behavioral health unit dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.Our department specializes in behavioral health crises, and while we occasionally handle medical issues, patients are medically cleared prior to admission to our unit.
As an RN on the team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role,you will help patients who are struggling with mental healthchallenges and provide them with compassionate care and support, while also learning valuable skills in crisis intervention, de-escalation, communicationand therapeutic rapport. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days and hours.Working a minimum of 48 hoursper6-weekperiod will berequired.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement andmonitorpatient care plans.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Monitor,recordand communicate patients’ conditions.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.
Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursingstudy.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
External applicants:two years of recent related nursing experience
Internal applicants:less than two years of experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer approval for internal applicants
Will consider licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’sof Science in Nursing (BSN)
