A PRN caregiver in this positionworksvariabledays from7:00AM – 3:30PM or 7:00AM – 7:30PM. Working36 hoursper 6-week schedule isrequired.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate,updateand revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within one year of hire
External applicants:two years of recent related nursing experience
Internal applicantswith less than two years of experience but post orientation/90-day probationary period could be considered with Chief NursingOfficerlevel review and approval
Will consider licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
One year of experience in a critical care setting
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification – if you do not already hold this certification, you must obtain it
