The Senior Engineer - Transportation is responsible for executing specific and moderate portions of broader transportation engineering assignments while leveraging project management controls (PMC) and design background expertise. This role requires a professional with demonstrated experience in design methodology and project controls who can independently manage engineering deliverables from conception through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gathers and correlates engineering data using established procedures and applies design background knowledge to inform analysis and recommendations.
- Performs detailed engineering assignments involving calculations, testing, and design documentation with proficiency in design methodology and standards.
- Develops and proposes engineering approaches to solve new problems by modifying standard procedures, drawing on design background and project experience.
- Manages project elements in accordance with agreed-upon budget, schedule, and project controls (PMC) requirements with minimal supervision.
- Independently performs all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works, including design reviews and design documentation.
- Applies project management controls to track progress, identify discrepancies in results, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers on design methodology, engineering procedures, and project controls best practices.
- Maintains design documentation and project records in compliance with PMC standards and organizational requirements.
