Indian River Hospital’s24-bedIntensive Care Unit (ICU)providesthe highest quality care for patients with complex acute and chronic health issues. Medical and nursing care intheICU addresses health issues along a continuum of care from the time of admission to transfer or discharge.As an RN on this team, youwillhelp patientsreturn to health or provide comfort and support at the end oflife.Your role is essential to ensuring all patients feelencouraged, safeand at ease while receiving treatment.Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering your education, committee participation and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.
Acaregiver in this position worksnights from 6:45PM – 7:15AM, with weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate,updateand revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administerprescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school ofProfessionalNursing(Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Oneyear of current acute care RN experienceORlicensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’sofScience inNursing (BSN)
ICU RN experience
Experience working with high-acuity patients
