Principal Engineer - Rail

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of rail projects across Queensland and ANZ, we are seeking an experienced Principal Rail Engineer to join our Brisbane team.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of rail projects, supporting the delivery of planning studies, feasibility assessments, tender designs, detailed design packages and construction support services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver high-quality, innovative and sustainable rail solutions.

As a senior member of our Rail team, you will mentor engineers, contribute to business development activities and help drive technical excellence across the business.

How you'll make a difference

• Provide technical leadership and guidance across rail track and infrastructure projects.
• Lead and undertake reviews of rail track designs, including third-party design submissions.
• Support project teams in achieving design objectives and delivering integrated engineering outcomes.
• Develop and champion value engineering and innovation opportunities throughout project delivery.
• Provide specialist rail engineering advice to support contract administration and construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with client standards and Rail Infrastructure Manager requirements, including QR, ARTC and Aurizon frameworks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate track design with civil, signalling, overhead wiring, structures and operational systems.
• Mentor and develop engineers while contributing to the continued growth of AECOM's Rail business.
