As a Surgical Services Support Technician, you will play an essential role in the patient care journey, from arrival through discharge, by safely transporting patients, cleaning and turning over operating rooms between cases, delivering specimensto the appropriate labs, and helping maintain a safe, sanitary and efficient surgical environment throughout the pavilion. The Surgical Services Support Technician safely transports patients todesignatedareas per nursing request. This position requires the caregiver to be able to multi-task and prioritize patient related and cleaning tasks.
The Surgical Services Support Technicianmaintainsand controls support services equipment and supplies. Additionally, this caregivermaintainsthe operating room environment in anaestheticallysafe and sanitary condition.
The followingshiftsare available:
6 a.m - 2:30 p.m.
10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
2 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
10:30 p.m. -- 6:30 a.m.
11 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m.
If weekend availability is required for this role, it will be built into your regular schedule. In that case, your workweek would be scheduled either Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday.
Working holiday shifts is voluntary.
Responsibilities:
Escort and direct customers to theappropriate sourceforassistance.
Provide a safe environment for patients and their families.
Comply withentering job tasks in electronic computer software programs.
Assistnursing service with prepping and shaving patients for surgery.
Coordinate andmaintainUniform Room activities such as locker assignments and scrubs for all operating room personnel.
Properlyhandleanddisposeof hazardous waste.
Comply withspecial cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infectioncontrolsurgical cases.
Minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period
One year customer service experience and experience working in a team environment
