TheAmbulatory Surgery Center (ASC) offers advanced outpatient surgery, allowingpatients to return home soon after their procedureswithout the need for overnight stays.As an RN, you willassistfellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, frominitialintroduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients,familiesand visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.This position supports operating room functions in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting.Previousexperience is preferred

A caregiver in this position worksdays|part-time|20 hours|no weekends or holidays| 7:00am—3:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will: 

• Provide clinical nursinginthe Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). 

• Assess patient care needs, plan the delivery ofcareand process patients through the ASC.

• Direct other caregivers in providing patient care. 

• Assume charge responsibilities, resolveproblemsand report variances. 

• Develop educational materials and provide health education to patients and families.

• Maintain nursing competencies. 

• Participate in preparing staff development programs. 

• Identifyself-learning needs,establishgoalsand evaluate attainment of goals. 

• Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people.

• Maintain confidentiality of informationregardingpatients,familiesand caregivers.

• Demonstrate a positive,concernedand sensitive response in the workplace and contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Graduate of an accreditedSchool ofNursing(Diploma, ASA, BSN program)

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

• One year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting OR three yearsof experienceas a Surgical Technician(may substitute forone yearclinical RNexperience) 

• Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Cross

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Crosswithin six months of hire 

• **If performing moderate/proceduralsedationmust have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.

• **For those caring for pediatric population, completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA)

• **If PRN and assigned in a circulator role, ACLS and PALSisnotrequired.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’sofScience inNursing (BSN)

• Scrub and Circulate experience

• Experiencesupportingoperating room functions in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting
