Kidney and hypertension specialists treat patients with common and rare kidney disorders in an environment that fosters collaboration and innovation in diagnosis and treatment. Our specialists work together in a coordinated team environment to provide innovative and compassionate clinical care.By joining the Nephrology team as a Medical Assistant, you will collaborate with fellow staff to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for patients, families and visitors. You will assist with medication management, patient monitoring, administrativetasksand more.You may also travel to Tradition Hospital and Tiffany, depending on the provider’s schedule.All your work helps ensure the best possible health outcomes. A caregiver in this position worksMonday-Friday from 8:00AM – 4:30PM.

Martin North will be the primary work location, but floating to Tradition and Tiffany will berequired, as needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Assistwith performing screening and treatments by gathering information related to health maintenance, collectingspecimensand documenting patient care.

Update health maintenance at patient visits, accuratelyidentifiesmedicationchanges,andupdatesallergy information at each visit.

Monitor andcommunicatechanges in patient condition.

Administerspecific medications underthe directionofthe provider.

Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking,cleaningand troubleshooting.

Maintain examination areas.

Assistin pre-visit planning by updating the health maintenance tab.

Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, dataentryand patient registration.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting Program

Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

Currentdemonstratedclinicalproficiency

Completion of a clinical externshipor extensive clinical experience

Basic Life Support (BLS)certificationthroughtheAmerican Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Crossrequiredwithin new hire period

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

CMA, NCMAorCCMA certification

Successful completion of CC Externship

PreviousNephrology experience

Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
