Position Summary:
Working under the direct supervision of Dr. Praloy Chakraborty, Clinician Investigator in the Division of Cardiology, Electrophysiology Section, the candidate will be an integral member of an established patient-oriented translational research program in cardiovascular autonomics and cardiac electrophysiology. The program focuses on understanding and treating cardiac arrhythmias through integrative approaches linking autonomic dysregulation, cardiac metabolism, and electrophysiological remodeling. A central emphasis is the development and evaluation of neuromodulation-based therapies, including auricular vagal neuromodulation, as non-invasive strategies to restore sympathovagal balance and reduce arrhythmia burden. Research activities include advanced autonomic phenotyping, wearable and ambulatory monitoring, biomarker discovery (autonomic, inflammatory, and metabolomic), and early-phase clinical studies. The overarching goal is to translate mechanistic insights into patient-centered therapeutic strategies for conditions such as IST, POTS, vasovagal syncope, and atrial fibrillation. Infrastructure includes: Advanced Autonomic Function Testing Lab, Wearable ECG monitoring, Clinical electrophysiology integration.
