Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated AI/ML Software Engineer to lead the design and development of a next-generation Image Management System (IMS) for digital pathology. This platform will be built to operate in high-volume clinical environments and will be designed to integrate advanced AI algorithms developed within our Computational Pathology (CPath) program.

The successful candidate will play a key role in building a scalable, secure, and high-performance system comparable to leading platforms, with a strong emphasis on usability, interoperability, and AI deployment readiness.

Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain a scalable IMS for digital pathology workflows and contribute to system architecture decisions, documentation, and best practices.
• Implement efficient handling, storage, and streaming of whole slide images (WSIs).
• Develop backend and frontend components to support high-throughput clinical usage.
• Integrate AI models into the platform for inference, visualization, and workflow augmentation.
• Ensure system compliance with healthcare data privacy and security standards.
• Optimize system performance for large-scale image datasets and concurrent users.
• Collaborate with pathologists, researchers, and data scientists to refine system requirements.
• Implement APIs for interoperability with existing hospital systems (e.g., LIS, PACS).
