Position Summary:
The Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) requires a Clinical Research Coordinator II to work within its central clinical research operations office. The incumbent will be an integral part of the JDMI research office working within a multidisciplinary team to support the various medical imaging research studies conducted at University Health Network and beyond.
Duties:
- Support the triage and review of clinical research studies across JDMI.
- Liaise with study teams, sponsors, clinical operations and external collaborators to determine the feasibility of proposed clinical research studies.
- Determine the accessibility and costing for medical imaging services within JDMI for research studies.
- Support the core research operations team with tasks related to bookings, data management, business intelligence and finances.
- Applies knowledge of imaging procedures/protocols to support technologists and other colleagues in the execution of imaging research projects
- Ensure proposed and ongoing clinical research studies are in compliance with ICH/GCP principles, tri-council guidelines, PHIPA, Health Canada/FDA regulations, JDMI policies, and any other applicable policies or regulations.
- Act as an ambassador and subject matter expert for clinical research operations and processes at JDMI.
- Participate in providing educational seminars/training sessions to JDMI and other personnel.
- Participate in ongoing innovation and enhancement efforts.
- Applies knowledge of investigator/sponsor-driven research processes, budgeting, and contract reviews.
- Exercises considerable independent judgement and decision making, using broadly defined policies, practices and procedures, to resolve a variety of complex problems.
- Develops and maintains tools to facilitate and enhance research task performance.
- Works with minimal direction from leadership.
- Contributes toward development of guidelines, procedures, and standards.
- Provides functional supervision of assigned personnel.
- May provide direct supervision of assigned personnel for one or more assignments.
- Develops and presents material for publication using strong written, verbal and graphical communications skills.
- Participates in protocol development/review and site feasibility assessments.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as required.
