This is a dual-impact role—you’ll lead by example while staying hands-on with fabrication. You’ll partner closely with the Metal Shop Supervisor to keep operations running smoothly, safely, and on schedule, while mentoring technicians and ensuring every product meets exact customer specifications.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate daily metal shop operations to meet productivity, quality, and delivery goals
- Serve as a trusted leader and point of contact when the Supervisor is unavailable
- Operate and oversee CNC punches, press brakes, shears, saws, and welding processes
- Read and interpret complex blueprints and schematics with precision
- Train, coach, and support metal shop technicians
- Champion safety, OSHA compliance, and equipment maintenance
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Support shipment preparation and occasional on-site installation or service work
The role is non-exempt and typically works a 40-hour work week, with flexibility required for overtime, evenings, or weekends to meet critical production deadlines.
