The Senior Commodity Manager is responsible for leading strategic sourcing and commodity management across the enterprise, driving cost optimization, supplier performance, and supply continuity within a complex manufacturing or industrial environment. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across sourcing, procurement, planning, logistics, and supplier engagement to improve margin performance, working capital efficiency, and service levels.
The position plays a critical role in enterprise value creation by aligning supply chain execution with commercial demand, production capacity, and financial performance objectives. The Senior Commodity Manager partners closely with executive leadership and stakeholders to deliver scalable operational improvements and sustainable competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead enterprise-wide supply chain strategy across sourcing, procurement, logistics, planning, and distribution.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives and margin improvement at scale across strategic commodity categories.
• Own supply chain P&L performance, working capital efficiency, and enterprise inventory strategy.
• Oversee supplier negotiations, vendor consolidation, and contract management to improve commercial commodity performance and reduce risk.
• Implement disciplined inventory management processes aligned with commercial forecasts and production capacity.
• Improve service levels, fill rates, and on-time delivery across multiple manufacturing and distribution facilities.
• Establish and maintain commodity management data integrity across ERP and supply chain systems.
• Lead digitization initiatives for spend classification, analytics standardization, and enterprise visibility of procurement data.
• Develop structured taxonomy and classification frameworks for commodity spend to support strategic sourcing and financial reporting.
• Build scalable analytics to support cost modeling, supplier performance measurement, and sourcing strategy execution.
• Build and lead high-performing supply chain teams and develop succession pipelines.
• Partner with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders on commodity operational value creation initiatives.
