The overall objective of the CNC Programmer position is to utilize Computer Aided Manufacturing software to produce accurate and efficient CNC programs that result in the fabrication of parts that are consistent, high‐quality and profitable. Consistent and accurate modeling and representing of the Mission Critical Group brand, mission, vision, values and organizational strategy are essential to achieving the goals of the organization.
Accountabilities
- Importing part 3D models into CNC programming software from models developed by the Mechanical and Bus Designers.
- Effectively processing part files to verify geometry and apply sequential punch tooling.
- Designing and developing sheet layout for optimizing material usage.
- Providing structure punch and parts list documents for task and CNC programs.
- Assisting punch operators with programs developed.
- Monitoring quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming control while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Importing electrical AutoCAD designs (device cutouts) into 2D models of panel doors and back pans.
- Integrating work with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Purchasing personnel to ensure a smooth flow of quality products through the manufacturing shop.
- Successfully completing other duties as required by Engineering Manager.
- Supporting Engineering Department efforts of developing, implementing and maintaining standard designs, current and future engineering software tools, and Engineering processes documentation.
