What You'll Do
- Champion a Safety First culture at all times
- Analyze work orders, BOMs, blueprints, and schedules to determine materials and sequencing
- Coordinate fabrication activities, oversee machinery setup and maintenance, and monitor production metrics and labor hours
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Recommend enhancements to equipment, plant layout, material flow, and capital investments
- Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate 30–60 employees including supervisors across fabrication and machine shop operations
- Manage compensation recommendations and employee relations
- Develop and manage departmental budgets including labor, materials, and CapEx
- Support cost estimation for custom fabrication projects and drive year-over-year cost efficiencies
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Project Management, Production, and Quality teams
- Ensure compliance with AWS, AISC, and ASTM/ISO standards for welding, steel construction, and coating specifications.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred — equivalent experience considered
- 3–5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication
- Hands-on knowledge of sheet metal, structural steel, and copper fabrication processes
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Epicor, or similar)
- Familiarity with AWS, AISC, ASTM, or ISO standards
- Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting to employees, management, and customers
- Comfortable working with production data, metrics, and basic calculations.
- Practical problem-solver who can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly in a standard manufacturing environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role operates in an active manufacturing facility. Must be comfortable working near moving mechanical parts, moderate noise levels, and occasional exposure to electrical hazards. Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
