Our client is a dynamic wellness organisation experiencing rapid growth and seeking a technical financial professional to elevate their back-office operations. We are seeking an Technical Financial Accountant (Reporting & Analysis) with advanced analytical and reporting capabilities to support their financial planning and strategic decision-making. This is a back end, technical role focused on analysis and insights - not clerical or transactional work. You'll be equally comfortable managing complex spreadsheets, variance analysis, and financial modelling whilst supporting leadership with actionable financial intelligence.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Working Hours: This role requires you to work USA hours Mon – Fri from 9 am to 6 pm EST (3:00 PM to 00:00 AM South African time); however, these hours are subject to change depending on daylight savings.
- Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
- Power Backup: A reliable power backup solution is required to manage load shedding and power outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
- Work Environment: This is a fully remote working role.
- Public Holidays: You will be required to work on all South African public holidays (compensated as per BCEA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the full-cycle general ledger and monthly close process
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and maintain the trial balance
- Manage balance sheet accounts, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and lease accounting
- Prepare and analyze monthly P&L variance reports, providing clear insights into financial performance
- Handle expense allocations across departments, locations, and cost centers
- Support cash flow forecasting and budget vs. actual analysis
- Assist with ad-hoc financial modeling and reporting for leadership decision-making
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Continuously improve accounting processes and systems
Requirements:
- Several years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting processes
- Proven experience with:
- Monthly close and general ledger management
- P&L variance analysis
- Cash flow forecasting and basic FP&A support
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling)
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and adapt to new accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial data clearly
