About the Role
We are currently partnering with a prominent Dental Services Company in the USA to find a talented Team Leader who can drive team success while also stepping in as an agent when needed.
As the Team Lead for our client, you will be responsible for leading, coaching, and motivating a high-performing sales team within the dental insurance industry. This position requires a strong background in leadership, a deep understanding of insurance products, and the ability to drive sales and client onboarding results through strategic team management.
As the Team Lead, you will oversee and lead a team of external representatives, ensuring they meet and exceed sales targets while providing exceptional customer service. You will also step in as an agent when necessary, helping with client interactions, closing deals, and supporting the team during peak times. This position demands strong leadership skills, extensive sales experience, and the ability to jump into customer calls when required.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (15:00 PM – 00:00 AM South African time) – subject to daylight savings.
- Public Holidays: This role requires working on both South African and U.S. public holidays (compensation for SA public holidays in accordance with the BCEA).
- Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet capability is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
- Power Backup: Reliable backup required to manage load shedding or outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
- Work Environment: Fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of external agents, providing coaching, support, and performance evaluations.
- Drive sales growth by developing and executing strategies to achieve company objectives and targets.
- Monitor team performance, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs) and revenue goals.
- Motivate and guide the team, fostering a high-energy, results-driven environment
Active Support
- Step in as an agent when necessary to handle calls, close deals, and support the team during busy periods.
- Work closely with other departments to improve sales and client onboarding processes and optimise client satisfaction.
Performance & Development
- Provide regular feedback, training, and development to ensure continuous team improvement.
- Analyse sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Report on sales activities, team performance, and business outcomes to management.
Requirements
Working Experience:
- Proven experience in a leadership or team lead role, preferably within the medical insurance, healthcare or financial services industry.
- Strong background in managing and coaching agents or representatives.
- Experience reviewing sales processes and identifying performance gaps.
- Prior exposure to or experience working with US-based teams or clients is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to step into an agent role when required.
