Job Description:
We are seeking a mid-career Remediation Project Engineer - Civil/Environmental who combines strong engineering design expertise with consulting and project management capabilities. This individual will join our high-performing team of engineers and scientists to support and lead remediation-focused projects across multiple service lines, including Remediation, Sediment & Risk Assessment, and Business Services. Our ideal candidate has 8–12 years of experience, thrives in a collaborative consulting environment, and is excited to serve as a technical lead and task or project manager on a wide variety of challenging and meaningful remediation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise & Engineering Design
- Support remedial system designs such as groundwater extraction and treatment systems, soil vapor extraction systems, thermal remediation system, and in-situ injection remedies
- Prepare engineering design documents including technical specifications, bid packages, cost estimates, and as-built drawings
- Perform remedy selection and feasibility evaluations for complex sites with multiple contaminants and regulatory frameworks
- Conduct performance monitoring design and optimization, and system O&M evaluations
- Support permitting efforts (RCRA, NPDES, Air) and development of regulatory submittals
Project & Task Management
- Lead implementation of scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for technical task
- Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure quality, timely, and cost-effective delivery
- Prepare and review work plans, technical reports, and remedial action plans
- Ensure effective communication and coordination across multidisciplinary teams
Client Service & Business Development
- Serve as a technical resource in client meetings, regulatory discussions, and proposal development
- Assist in identifying growth opportunities within existing projects and client relationships
- Support proposal preparation, cost estimating, and project scoping efforts
Required experience and expertise include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechnical Engineering, or related field
- 8–12 years of environmental consulting experience with progressive technical and project responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience in remedial design and implementation, environmental data analysis, and regulatory reporting
- Experience managing scopes, schedules, and budgets on engineering-focused tasks or projects
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, and applicable modeling software
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to travel for field programs and client meetings, as needed (10–15%)
- PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure within 1 year
- Familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, and state environmental regulatory programs
- Experience mentoring and delegating to junior staff and contributing to internal knowledge sharing
