Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for a Launch Systems Engineering Manager 3 to lead the Launch Center A sub-IPT. This leadership role is located in Roy, Utah.
This is a leadership position to lead a team of Northrop Grumman employees and our Tier-1 subcontractor partners to deliver the Sentinel Launch Center A design. The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels of customer and executive leadership and should be able to coordinate geographically dispersed teams.
What You Will Get To Do:
Lead the development of complete Launch Center A design to include: construction specifications and drawings; constructability reviews; implement management of interfaces to ensure successful integration of weapon system and construction elements; technical, cost, and schedule analysis of design alternatives; managing Earned Value cost and schedule reporting; communications with senior and executive leadership internally and with supplier and customer.
• Set a Vision: Develop and communicate a clear vision for shaping, growing, and enabling the Launch Center A team to meet and exceed its obligations.
• Build a High Performing Team: Partner with Functional leadership to build, maintain, and implement mentoring, succession, and development plans. Develop and execute staffing plans that achieve financial and programmatic strategic goals.
• Take Ownership: Drive execution across a diverse, multidisciplinary team, meeting cost, schedule, and technical performance metrics. Communicate progress, challenges, and plans with clarity and conciseness.
• Lead with Courage: Instill a culture of empowerment and accountability that enables the team to efficiently meet or exceed obligations. Build strong partnering relationships with customers, industry partners, and internal organizations and proliferate this partnership across the Launch Center A team.
• Respond to Challenges with Resilience: Perform proactive risk and opportunity management. Leverage strong partnerships to navigate setbacks and implement recovery plans that maintain forward momentum.
• Act with Speed: Leverage leaders within the Launch Center A team to make timely and credible decisions while performing advocacy across a broad stakeholder community to ensure buy-in and mitigate delays. Implement process improvements and strategic initiatives where necessary to maintain and increase execution velocity.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience or Master's degree and 6 years of related experience
• Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access within a period of time, that meets current business needs
• Experience working with construction specifications and drawings
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Leading subcontractor technical scope to deliver designs that meet or exceed requirements
• Experience leading people
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
• Experience as an EVMS Control Account Manager (CAM)
• 3+ years experience in program management on development programs
• Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or control account manager
• Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through leading people and understanding and management of internal processes and customer/supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, hardware, etc.)
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
• Experience in working closely with customers to ensure delivery of systems that meet warfighter needs
• Ability to collaborate and achieve consensus when dealing with groups from diverse organizations and backgrounds
• Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations
• Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner
Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $250,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
