Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking an Engineering Technician – Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team in Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, FL.
The Engineering Technician is responsible for fabrication, assembly, testing and acceptance of flight hardware.
In this job, you will:
Operate electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Mix, apply and bond coatings and adhesives
Read and understand engineering drawings, schematics and specifications.
Install and test electronic components, boxes, cables, and systems.
Disassemble, inspect and install mechanical hardware
Operate heavy equipment (cranes, forklifts, manlifts, tugs)
Use manual tools, torque wrenches, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
Participate as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost, and schedule of the team.
Be well organized and able to follow and execute computer-based work instructions
Share your knowledge with others on the team
Act with a sense of urgency without compromising safety
Perform other duties as assigned
This position is a 4/10 schedule (10 hr. days, with every Friday off). As demand grows, we can anticipate scheduled Friday workdays, the possibility of rotating shifts, and the need for overtime.
This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
No clearance required to start, must be able to pass a NASA background check.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics and electronic work instructions.
Ability to train and mentor other teammates.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Self-motivated, requiring limited oversite; flexible and adaptable to varying work scope and tasks.
Proficient in use of manual tools, torque wrenches, power tools, pneumatic tools, and electronic test equipment such as a Fluke Meter or Oscilloscope.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office.
Ability to support rotating shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime when required.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Able to work in manufacturing environment, including accessing ladders, stairs, and work platforms. Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics and electronic work instructions.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Self-motivated, requiring limited oversite; flexible and adaptable to varying work scope and tasks.
