About the Role
We are looking for passionate and driven undergraduate internship candidates to join the Altera Architecture team. In this role, you will work alongside industry experts in a fast-paced, agile environment, gaining hands-on experience in hardware and software co-design. From day one, your ideas will matter, and you will contribute to real-world projects that shape the future of digital systems and AI-driven workflows.
Internship Details
Duration: 3–12 months
Eligibility: Undergraduate students (must be actively enrolled in school pursuing their Bachelor's degree throughout the entire duration of the internship)
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Altera Bloor St location)
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Expected Start Date: Mid-May 2026 (flexible)
Key Responsibilities
Work with AI companies to integrate AI workflows for broader adoption within Altera solutions
Build and maintain a knowledge base consisting of architectural specifications, technical documentation, and marketing content
Deploy solutions on AWS Cloud and develop custom configurations to support use cases
Refine and generate both internal and customer-facing content and collateral
Debug discrepancies and collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering and Business teams
Apply strong problem-solving skills to analyze issues and develop effective solutions
Communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams through both written and verbal channels
Salary Range
Our compensation is designed to reflect the Canadianlabourmarket. The actual salary offered may vary based on several factors, including the position’s location, as well as the candidate’s experience, skills, training, and job-specific knowledge. In addition to base salary, we offer performance-based incentive opportunities that reward both individual contributions and overall company success.
Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000CAD

Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
3+ months of experience or relevant coursework in digital design, computer architecture, or FPGA fundamentals
3+ months of experience or coursework with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++, or similar)
3+ months of experience or coursework with cloud platforms such as AWS or equivalent
Experience or coursework related to FPGA design, RTL development, or hardware/software co-design
Exposure to AI/ML workflows, tools, or frameworks
Familiarity with cloud deployment, containers, or distributed systems
Experience creating technical documentation or knowledge base content
Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams
