The office hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM- 4:30PM at the Minoru Yasui Building located at 303 W Colfax Ave. Suite 800, Denver, CO 80204.
Who We Are DCC
The mission of Denver County Court is to administer justice fairly, efficiently, and effectively; provide excellent customer service, and foster a positive environment where employees enjoy their work. The City and County of Denver’s third branch of government is comprised of 19 judges, 4 full-time magistrates, and 300 staff members. Case types include state, civil, small claims, traffic, criminal, and other general sessions cases within the City and County of Denver. The Denver County Court proudly serves the community and continually seeks ways to incorporate procedural fairness and evidence-based practices.
The Division
The Probation Division supervises approximately 2,500 cases assigned to 39 Probation Officers. The Probation Department handles misdemeanor and city ordinance violations cases. Most of the cases referred to County Court Probation are for DUI (Driving Under the Influence), DWAI (Driving While Ability Impaired), DUID (Driving Under the Influence of Drugs) and Domestic Violence. WhatYou'll Do
Day-to-day,asaJudicialAssistantIIwiththeprobationteam,youcanexpectto:
Performcourtspecific,technicalclericalofficesupportworkprocessingallincomingadult and juvenile probationers.
Conductcriminalhistorysearchesutilizingseveralcriminaljusticedatabases.
PrepareandsubmitlegaldocumentssuchasPre-SentenceInvestigation(PSIs)reports and motions to the court.
Interprets and explains regulations, policies, standards, and/or procedures to internal/external customers based on extensive knowledge of a specialized area within a defined scope.
Approves and rejects case information and determines appropriate actions within a defined scope.
Be a valued member of a dynamic team where mutual trust, collaboration, and accountability is critical to the team’s success.
Assist in the processing of clients including phone calls, data entry into databases, report processing, intake paperwork and photos, filing motions and court documents, and supporting the overall life cycle on a case.
Review and evaluate forms, applications, computations, documents, and/or other information to determine accuracy, completeness, acceptability, or compliance based on extensive knowledge of court policy, procedures, and legal practices.
Answerphonecallsdaily,provideinformationtocustomers;screenstelephonecalls, transfers calls, takes messages and returns phone calls as necessary.
Utilizeacomputertoinputinformation/dataandtocreate,edit,compile,manipulate,and retrieve files and/or databases and creates reports.
Maintain detailed and confidential records and act as liaison between clients, court personnel and probation officers.
Always represent the department and the court in a positive and professional manner.
High-volume office requires the ability to multi-task and prioritize, performing daily duties timely to meet the business needs of the department and the court.
