In this position you can expect to work 100% on site at Denver International Airport, West Jeppeson Terminal. Free employee parking is provided. No remote or hybrid options are available.
Shifts available: Sunday to Thursday 10:00pm to 6:30am MST and Tuesday to Saturday 10:00pm to 6:30am MST
All scheduling is subject to adjustment and is based on operational needs.
Performs specialized, professional, and complex duties assisting the Landside Operations Supervisor in overseeing the parking operations at the terminal, hotel transit center, airport parking lots, and along airport roadways in and around the terminal to ensure the safety of the traveling public and the efficient operation of the airport
Patrols and resolves operational problems, emergencies, compliance issues, and other unusual situations in the airport parking lots to ensure the safety of the traveling public and the efficient operation of the airport.
Monitors operational activities of contracted parking management providers, towing contracted providers and contracted busing providers for public and employee parking lots.
Monitors public and employee parking operations in conjunction with the Denver Police and initiates action as appropriate to resolve problems and enforce airport security requirements.
Monitors and resolves problems involving traffic flow through airport parking areas, including the 61st & Pena Station parking lot.
Responds to medical, public safety, security, and various other problematic emergency situations on all airport parking lots and surrounding roadways. Advises Landside Operations Supervisor of the status of the emergency and ensures appropriate resources are available to resolve the situation effectively. Coordinates and directs the activities of other airport personnel as appropriate.
Enforces DEN Airport Rules and Regulation requirements for parking at the terminal, airport parking lots, and roadways in conjunction with Denver Police, Terminal Operations, and contracted security guards.
Enforces airport security requirements and the City and County of Denver, Section 54-2 of the Revised Municipal Code, and in accordance with the provisions of Sections 54-786 (c), 54-788 and 54-419(b) of the Revised Municipal Code, as amended, all airport parking lots and other airport landside facilities.
Coordinates landside activities related to parking operations, and severe weather for passengers and other entities at the terminal and landside facilities and parking lots.
Coordinates charter bus movements at the terminal for conventions, groups, and special events.
Performs the Landside Operations unit function regarding traffic control, code enforcement, customer service, train system failures, medical emergencies, power failures, hazardous material incidents, bomb threats, and other emergencies.
Monitors vehicle traffic at the terminal and parking lots to ensure a safe and efficient flow of incoming and outgoing passengers. Coordinates with airlines, federal agencies, other airport customer service personnel, and airport volunteers to provide assistance and customer service to passengers.
Conducts inspections of the terminal and landside facilities, parking lots, and issues work orders through the maintenance center to address maintenance and repair needs.
Authorizes temporary shutdowns of airport parking lots for maintenance purposes, construction activities, and deliveries. Monitors and assesses the completeness of maintenance and repair work and requests corrective action if necessary.
Remains current on all updates to local and federal regulations, Airport Security Program, and TSA security directives.
Assists in the planning, coordinating, and implementing plans for snow emergencies, stranded passenger’ transportation, and other operational contingencies.
Assists in the orientation and training of new incumbents to the classification, performing and demonstrating the duties of the classification. Communicates evaluation of the trainee to the Landside Operations Supervisor.
Maintains a mentoring program for interested candidates in Landside Operations, allowing individuals an opportunity to become familiar with the job.
Assists the City Attorney with city liability claims to prevent or mitigate losses to the City in litigation as a witness or through deposition. Appear in court is subpoenaed to testify regarding issued citations.
Prepares electronic logbook entries of daily events, carrier contacts, inspections, maintains databases and prepares reports as needed.
Monitors, documents, and evaluates several airport contracts via log entries, metrics, and statistical data to provide airport patrons with the most efficient movement of passengers. Advises other airport operation divisions of potential impacts on their operations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Employees may be re-deployed to work in other capacities in their own agencies or in other City agencies to support core functions of the City during a City-wide emergency declared by the mayor.
