Position Overview
The Night Manager, at Park Hotel Kenmare, is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s operations during overnight hours, ensuring the highest standards of guest service, safety, and operational efficiency are consistently maintained. As a representative of a luxury five-star Relais & Châteaux property, the Night Manager embodies the hotel’s ethos of discreet, personalised hospitality while safeguarding its reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Act as the primary point of contact for all guest needs, requests, and concerns during the night shift.
- Deliver a warm and personalised guest experience aligned with five-star and Relais & Châteaux standards.
- Handle late check-ins and early departures with professionalism and discretion.
- Resolve guest complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring complete satisfaction and follow-up.
- Maintain a visible presence in public areas to engage with guests and ensure service quality.
Operational Management
- Ensure the smooth execution of night process, including cleaning task lists and reporting.
- Prepare daily operational reports for senior management.
- Monitor occupancy, room allocations, and special requests to ensure seamless transitions into the daytime operation.
- Ensure all hotel systems (PMS, POS, etc.) are functioning properly.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and support overnight staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and excellence.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to team members as needed.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and effective task delegation throughout the shift.
- Conduct briefings and handovers with evening and morning teams.
Security & Safety
- Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and property at all times.
- Conduct regular property walks and security checks.
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, or disturbances in a calm and efficient manner.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Act as the designated Fire Warden / Incident Leader during overnight hours.
Quality & Brand Standards
- Uphold the standards of a five-star luxury property and Relais & Châteaux brand values.
- Ensure all public areas and guest touchpoints reflect the hotel’s commitment to excellence.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and communicate them to management.
- Maintain impeccable personal presentation and professionalism at all times.
