The role - what’s you day to day going to look like?
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented OSINT Investigator to support our Brand Protection initiatives by identifying, investigating, and mitigating online brand abuse. This role combines advanced open-source intelligence (OSINT) research with operational execution of test purchases to validate suspected counterfeit activity and unauthorized sales.
The ideal candidate brings strong investigative expertise, exceptional reporting skills, and a proactive, client-facing mindset. In addition to conducting investigations, this role requires the ability to engage with customers and prospects—clearly articulating OSINT findings and test purchasing methodologies, and supporting the adoption of these services.
Key Responsibilities
OSINT Investigations & Reporting
- Conduct in-depth OSINT investigations to identify counterfeit products, trademark infringements, and unauthorized sellers.
- Monitor e-commerce marketplaces, social media platforms, and websites for brand misuse.
- Analyze seller ecosystems, digital footprints, and patterns of infringement activity.
- Produce high-quality, evidence-based OSINT reports, including:
- Seller identification and risk profiling
- Comprehensive infringement documentation (screenshots, URLs, metadata)
- Link and network analysis
Test Purchasing (Undercover Buying)
- Plan and execute covert test purchases from suspected infringing sellers.
- Ensure adherence to operational, legal, and compliance guidelines to maintain anonymity and integrity.
- Manage and document the full lifecycle of test purchases, including:
- Order placement and payment methods
- Shipping logistics and timelines
- Inspect received goods to assess authenticity and identify counterfeit indicators.
- Document findings through detailed reports, including photographic evidence and product assessments.
Evidence Handling & Service Enablement
- Compile robust evidence packages to support legal actions, enforcement measures, and takedown requests.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support enforcement and escalation processes.
- Support pre-sales and post-sales activities by explaining OSINT methodologies and test purchase services.
- Build trust with clients through professional communication and subject matter expertise
