Job Summary:
The Finishing General Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of hourly employees engaged in the finishing operations of cast iron pipe. This role functions in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment and ensures safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations while leading employees performing physically demanding work in harsh conditions.
Pay rate between $75,000 to $85,000.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise and coordinate finishing operations and direct 15–20 hourly employees.
- Ensure employees understand and follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Function effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking, and high‑pressure environment.
- Examine materials at various stages of the finishing process.
- Observe machinery and finishing operations for safety and efficiency.
- Interpret specifications and customer requirements.
- Adjust work procedures to improve productivity and quality.
- Resolve production and personnel issues.
- Maintain accurate time and production records.
- Ensure production levels are met while maintaining safety standards.
- Work closely with Maintenance and other Supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure completion of all required employee training, including JSAs, safety talks, and Pure Safety.
- Conduct safety audits and enforce lockout/tagout procedures.
- Discipline hourly employees in accordance with company policies.
- Interpret and enforce safety regulations and company policies.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws and organizational guidelines.
