We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance & Payroll Officer to join our team in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment. This is a key role responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll, while also supporting core finance operations across the business.
You will work closely with department leaders and senior stakeholders, acting as the go-to person for payroll-related matters. With a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, you will not only ensure accuracy and compliance, but also identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and mitigate risk.
What you鈥檒l be doing...
- Managing end-to-end weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with relevant legislation
- Maintaining payroll system integrity, including employee data, award interpretation, and system configuration
- Interpreting and applying the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020 across varying rosters, employment types, and penalty structures
- Partnering with Heads of Department to ensure accurate timekeeping, roster inputs, and approvals
- Acting as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries and providing guidance to stakeholders across the business
- Managing superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG, and other statutory obligations
- Preparing payroll reports, variance analysis, and labour cost insights to support decision-making
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations and reporting
- Assisting with accounts payable, receivable, and general finance tasks as required
- Maintaining strong internal controls and proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies or risks
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements related to payroll and finance
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including system enhancements and process optimisation
