The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving group business (8 or more guestrooms on peak, with or without event space requirements) by strategically selling guest rooms, meeting and event space, and related services. This role focuses on maximizing revenue and profitability while delivering exceptional service and building long-term client relationships across assigned markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage an assigned geographic and/or vertical market segments, maintaining a balanced and healthy sales pipeline.
- Strategically sell hotel guest rooms, conference space, and related services.
- Quote and negotiate group rates and concessions within established guidelines and parameters.
- Evaluate all group business opportunities to maximize revenue, yield, and overall profitability while meeting and exceeding client expectations.
- Ensure all group contracts, concessions, and commitments comply with hotel policies, brand standards, and revenue management guidelines.
- Conducts tours of the hotel event space and guestrooms; entertains as necessary during selling and planning stages, as well as when otherwise appropriate.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and professional responses to all telephone, email, and in-person inquiries related to space and service needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients by delivering exceptional service and identifying opportunities for account growth.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account, activity, and opportunity records within Opera Cloud and other required systems to support forecasting and performance tracking.
- Create and execute monthly sales strategies and action plans aligned with overall hotel goals.
- Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeted sales goals through proactive solicitation, account management, and pipeline development.
- Travel as required for sales calls, tradeshows, client events, conferences, and industry networking opportunities.
- Collect, analyze, and leverage market and competitive intelligence to identify new opportunities and strengthen market positioning.
- Develop and maintain productive partnerships with key stakeholders, including Accor Global Sales Offices, Meet Boston, Signature Boston, local DMCs, and offsite venues.
- Collaborate with regional and national sister hotels to optimize Accor brand exposure and generate incremental group business.
- Assist with planning and execution of site inspections, familiarization (FAM) trips, sales blitzes, and hosted client events.
- Coordinate closely with Convention Services, Catering, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless execution of contracted services.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the sales team and hotel.
- Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance, communication, and conduct.
