Define MCU localization strategy and roadmap for ECU products; analyze current foreign MCU usage and derive requirements for local MCU replacement (performance, memory, peripherals, safety, diagnostics, cost);
Evaluate potential MCUs from local suppliers against system, safety and OEM requirements; define and agree MCU technical requirements and deliverables with suppliers; coordinate supplier technical support, change notifications and product updates for the MCU.
Support ECU hardware design for MCU-related circuits (power supply, clock, reset, I/O protection, debug/flash, testability, EMC robustness); review and approve MCU schematic and PCB implementation; define and check surrounding components such as external memory, clock and power devices.
Define MCU-related software requirements for start-up, low-level drivers, diagnostics and safety mechanisms (watchdog, ECC, clock/voltage monitoring, reset strategy); work with basic software / platform teams to ensure correct configuration and integration; support analysis and debugging of MCU-related software issues.
Ensure MCU and its integration support ISO 26262 and project safety goals; provide inputs to safety concept, FMEA/FMEDA and safety mechanisms; define and support MCU-related validation (bench tests, HIL, temperature/voltage stress, EMC, reliability); prepare MCU design justification and test documentation for project and customer release.
Lead technical investigations for MCU-related field issues, production issues and project escalations; coordinate cross-functional root-cause analysis; define and follow up corrective and preventive actions for MCU design, application or process.
