The Maintenance Apprenticeship Program is designed to prepare highly talented, self-motivated individuals for future maintenance career with AUMOVIO. The two year apprenticeship offers AUMOVIO employees to earn an Associate’s Degree in Advanced Manufacturing while experiencing hands-on maintenance experience and professional development. During the program you'll work in a hands on automotive manufacturing environment that allows learning through real-work application of education while on-the-job including technical skills such as electrical, robotics, pneumatics, mechanical, Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs), and industrial troubleshooting. This program also includes manufacturing core exercises such as safety culture, visual workplace organization, lean manufacturing, problem solving, and machine reliability.
• The Maintenance Apprenticeship program will work at AUMOVIO New Braunfels, TX facility a minimum of 32 hours per week to maintain full-time employment status.
• The Maintenance Apprentice will apply formal education to on-the-job learning and implementation in a AUMOVIO work environment. The incumbent will be challenged with assignments and/or projects relevant to the assigned business unit.
• Maintenance Apprentice will receive semester and final evaluation of on-the job performance to review current performance, goals, and development needs.
• Upon successful completion of the Maintenance Apprentice program the incumbent will be eligible to apply for a Maintenance position at AUMOVIO New Braunfels, TX.
Main Tasks:
• Troubleshoot complex machines and investigate malfunctions to root cause
• Use schematics, machine specifications, manuals and standard operating procedures to determine tasks to be performed
• Perform regular inspections of equipment, machinery and systems
• Prevent breakdowns through schedule servicing
• Follow workplace safety standards (OSHA guidelines)
• Support efforts to meet line product DPMO, OEE, and Scrap goals and equipment MTBF goals
• Participate in the advance process and quality planning (APQP) activities for new equipment
• Be proactive and promote teamwork between the technicians and production operators
• Interface; (support, assist, negotiate, consult) with: Engineers, peers, operators, supervision and management
• Understands and complies with all procedures pertaining to a given work environment; assists in designing improvements to the work environment
