About the Role
Mass General Brigham Community Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Infectious Disease physician to join our team at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA. This opportunity includes a .5 FTE clinical Infectious Disease physician role, with the option for an additional .25 FTE dedicated to antimicrobial stewardship for interested and qualified candidates, for a total of up to .75 FTE.
This position offers a mix of inpatient and outpatient infectious disease consultation services within a collaborative, community-based hospital setting. It will provide the opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, and deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
Ā· Provide inpatient infectious disease consultations at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Ā· Support outpatient infectious disease services, including hospital follow-up and specialty consultative care.
Ā· Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, primary care providers, and specialty teams to coordinate comprehensive patient management.
Ā· Contribute to quality improvement efforts and evidence-based clinical protocol development.
Ā· Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure compliance with billing and regulatory standards.
Ā· Participate in call coverage as part of the infectious disease team.
Ā· Support a collegial, team-based culture aligned with Mass General Brigham values.
Qualifications
Ā· Medical Licensure in Massachusetts
Ā· Board certification or Board Eligibility in Infectious Disease (ABIM)
Ā· Completion of an accredited Infectious Disease fellowship
Ā· Strong clinical expertise in inpatient and consultative infectious disease care
