Our team of expert providers and specialists at OB/GYN and Infertility in Dover take a thoughtful approach to provide high-quality compassionate care in the areas of Obstetrics, Gynecology, Urogynecology, Infertility and LGBTQ+ care. In the Center for Women's Health and Wellness located in the state-of-the-art building on the Pease campus in Portsmouth, this dynamic team brings together expert OB/GYN physicians and midwives, along with nurse navigators to help women manage all aspects of their care.
We are seeking a full-time, 36-Hour Sonographer to support our imaging services in Dover and Portsmouth! The primary location for this position is 15 Old Rollinsford Road, in Dover, NH, with occasional coverage at our Portsmouth, NH practice located at 67 Corporate Drive. This position consists of four 9-hour days(Thursday off) (7:00amā5:00pm, including a 1-hour lunch), with a typical patient load of 12 per day.
As the sole sonographer on site, you'll play a key role in maintaining workflow and ensuring high-quality patient care. Comfort working independently is essential, as you'll be the primary imaging resource during your shifts.
We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices and locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the WHP system when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support.

Job Summary
Responsible for providing quality patient care while producing ultrasound images and patterns used for patient diagnosis and treatment. The responsibilities also include completing scans effectively and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care possible in order to provide the most remarkable patient experience.

Essential Functions:
-Patient & Exam Verification: Confirm patient identity using two identifiers (full name and DOB). Review exam orders and clinical history. Prepare and clean equipment and rooms; restock supplies as needed.
-Patient Care & Collaboration: Clearly explain procedures, considering patient comfort and confidentiality. Collaborate with leadership to ensure efficient workflow and scanner use. Provide care within the scope of training and licensure.
-Department & On-Call Coverage: Participate in on-call, holiday, and flexible shift coverage as needed.
-Clinical Performance: Perform ultrasound exams and assist with training staff and students. Operate equipment and follow protocols. Complete additional duties as assigned.
-Research & Quality Initiatives: Support and participate in departmental research, QA, and improvement projects. Conduct research-related ultrasound exams as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Comprehensive understanding of computer operations relating to Imaging, Electronic Health Records, Reporting Systems, PACS, and all Hospital Information Systems that integrate with the Department of Radiology, relating to patient information and management.
Possesses analytical abilities necessary to effectively utilize advanced knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and anatomy.
Exemplifies flexibility and willingness to adapt to the operational needs and presents as a positive representative of the Department of Radiology.
Excellent attention to detail, written, and communication skills; must be able to read and write in English.
Use independent judgment and initiative under pressure in a variety of situations.
