Job Summary
FULL TIME days
Responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of employees in the workplace by preventing accidents, promoting a safe work environment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and Hospital policies.
Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance with safety standards.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans.
Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees, managers, and contractors.
Assess the need for safety equipment and personal protective equipment and ensure their availability, proper use, and maintenance.
Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire safety plans, and first aid protocols.

Education
Bachelor of Science degree with 2 years of safety experience; or Associates Degree in a safety-related field with 5 years of safety experience. Healthcare or laboratory experience will be prioritized.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledgeable of local, state, and national safety regulations and standards is essential. This includes knowledge of OSHA, Joint Commission, MA-DEP/U.S. EPA, Life Safety Code, Health Care Facilities Code, and relevant industry guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop effective safety strategies.
- Keen eye for detail to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Strong leadership qualities to effectively educate and motivate employees to adhere to safety guidelines.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work in diverse environments.
