J61 and J63 are 24-bed cardiovascular telemetry units specializing in postāopen heart, surgical, and ventricular assist device (VAD) patients. These fast-paced units provide a high-acuity environment where nurses develop advanced skills while caring for patients undergoing procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), minimally invasive and robotic heart surgery, valve repair or replacement, and other complex cardiac interventions. The units also manage conditions including myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmias, and device implantation or removal.
Nurses on J61 and J63 deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care through specialized teamwork and individualized education to support safe recovery and discharge. The units offer strong opportunities for professional growth, hands-on experience with innovative treatments, and involvement in education and community outreach initiatives.
A caregiver in this position worksrotating shifts| 7:00amā7:30pm or 7:00pmā7:30am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Ā
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate,updateand revise patient care plans.Ā
Monitor, record, document and communicate patientsā conditions.Ā
Administerprescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.Ā
Assess andcoordinatepatientsā discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.Ā Ā
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Ā
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursingĀ (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
