TheSports Business AffairsExecutive’s role isto supportCAA’s SportsAgents andExecutiveson business and legal issues arising froma wide array of commercial transactions includingendorsement agreements, representation agreements, commission agreements,brand consulting, event production, services and contractor agreements and other general corporate matters.Thisrole will primarily support our Munich, Germanyofficebut will bebased inLondon.Theincumbentmusttherefore be business fluent in both German and English. Theyalso need tobe thorough, detail-oriented, flexible, self-drivenand collaborative.
Although not an exhaustive list,responsibilities will includethe following:
Prepare,reviewand negotiate a wide range ofsports-relatedcommercial agreements, such asendorsement agreements, consulting agreements, services agreements, representationagreements, event production agreements, vendor agreements, intellectual property license agreements,NDAsand releases.
AdviseAgents andExecutives on businessand legalstrategy forsportstransactions of varying complexity and provide real-time and thoughtful advice toAgents andExecutives on a variety of business and legal issues.
Anticipate andidentifypotential legalissuesandassistinternal stakeholdersin developing strategies to avoid litigation and reduce potential areas of risk.
Monitorlegal developments and update template documentsto ensure compliance withlegal andregulatory requirementsand best practice.
Carry out legal researchand assist in effective contract administrationand document management processes.
Support the CAA Sports Business Affairs group’s overall goal of increasing organisational efficiency and achievement of businessobjectivesin a manner that minimises legal risk.
Foster positive long-term relationships with CAA Sports’ colleagues and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
UKQualified lawyer, withat least3years PQE.
Background in commercialand/orsports law, either in-house or in private practice.
Must bebusiness fluent, written and verbal, in both German and English.
Strong academic background: Undergraduate degree in Law 2:1 or above and if undergraduate degree is not in law, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) at a commendation level or higher.
Legal Practice Course (LPC) at commendation level or higher.
German legal qualificationwouldalsobe beneficial,but not essential.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail/accuracy.
Ability to manage time effectively,workingindependentlyand as a teamto meet demands of the organisation.
Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and enjoy a team-oriented approach to work.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and Adobe Acrobat.
