Job Summary:

The Engineering Supervisor - Mechanical is an engineering leadership role responsible for improving plant reliability and reducing production costs.
You will:
- Actively support and participate in all Environment, Health, and Safety initiatives and activities; and promote EH&S programs and ensure compliance within the Mechanical Engineering group
- Be responsible for the planning, organizing, and execution of all Mechanical & Civil/Structural work with respect to Engineering design. Within these projects, you will organize, schedule, and monitor work with Engineering contractors to ensure that all plant replacements, modifications, and additions are performed in strict conformity with design specifications and applicable code requirements
- Oversee and execute reliability design improvements for site static equipment and piping modifications. Will include participation with other site leaders in conducting incident investigations and ensuring that adequate action items are generated and completed in a timely manner.
- Be responsible for providing direction and support for the project management team with the implementation of Mechanical capital projects, including working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Purchasing, Planning, and Engineering internally, in addition to external vendors, consultants, and contacts outside the company, to achieve effective project execution
- Support the oversight of the inspection group, ensuring that routine inspections and repairs of static equipment (Towers, exchangers, piping, storage tanks, etc.) are conducted according to the latest TSSA requirements and best practice guidelines
- Support the development of the Capital Budget, will direct and support project nominations with all required front-end work necessary to meet budget, quality, scope, cost, and schedule
- Provide technical support for maintenance and operations through activities such as equipment design and specification, equipment troubleshooting, and equipment inspection
- Conduct site-wide presentations and prepare reports for engineering and plant leadership meetings.
- Effectively utilize the talents of the team to ensure competent technical services within the Mechanical Engineering group
- Understand and comply with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identify and bring to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies
- Coordinate and effectively communicate with the Project, Process, I/E, and Construction groups within the Engineering Department to promote collaborative teamwork and enhance project development and execution
- Support and actively participate in the initiatives of Continuous Improvement through teamwork, and the application of Quality Planning and Improvement Principles to the routine performance of duties
