THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT 1 FORDHAM PLAZA BRONX, NY
The New York City Housing Authority is seeking a Housing Assistant for the Leased Housing Department鈥檚 Bronx Client Services team. The unit is responsible for completing annual and interim reviews of household income and household composition, processing lease renewals/rent increases, and communicating with program participants and landlords.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the Housing Assistant鈥檚 responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Use HUD regulations, NYCHA policy, and procedure to review and evaluate documents to process lease renewals, annual, and interim recertifications.
2. Perform income verification.
3. Complete case corrections.
4. Process household updates.
5. Research and provide an accurate analysis of case activities.
6. Analyze and resolve income discrepancies.
7. Process lease renewal requests.
8. Create and process payment adjustments.
9. Respond to information requests, emails, and correspondence.
10. Ensure timely delivery of responses to inquiries.
11. Identify and escalate case and system issues for immediate follow-up.
12. Report system issues and suggest enhancements to improve operations.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
