This position is responsible for monitoring and controlling the raw material quartz processing facility from a central control room. This role involves ensuring efficient production, safety, and quality through the remote operation of plant systems and equipment. The Operator will monitor plant processes, respond to alarms, and coordinate with shift personnel to optimize facility output and maintain a safe operating environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitor and control the operation of the quartz processing facility from a central control room, ensuring efficient and effective processing of raw materials.
Monitor and achieve production targets by controlling plant systems and equipment, optimizing operational processes for quality and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate with the supply chain and logistics teams to manage incoming and outgoing shipments, including monitoring and controlling rail car loading and unloading.
Operate and monitor plant equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, and other processing machinery, using control systems and interfaces.
Implement and monitor process control systems to maintain stable and efficient operations, and respond to system alarms and anomalies.
Coordinate with maintenance personnel remotely for repairs and maintenance, ensuring the facility is in compliance with safety standards.
Promote a safety-first environment by adhering to all safety regulations, participating in safety training, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
Respond to process upsets or emergencies, taking appropriate actions to stabilize the plant and minimize downtime.
Work closely with quality control teams to monitor product quality through control systems, implement corrective actions, and ensure final products meet specifications.
Ensure that all rail operations are compliant with relevant regulations and internal policies by monitoring and controlling rail car movements.
Monitor raw material inventory levels using control systems to ensure continuous production without delays.
Collaborate with other departments to forecast and fulfill customer demand efficiently by adjusting plant operations as needed.
Maintain accurate records of plant operations, including production data, equipment status, and process parameters.
Provide regular reports to the Processing Facility Manager on plant status, production, and any operational issues
Qualifications & Skills:
3+ years of experience in facility operations or a process control environment, ideally within the mining or materials processing industry.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to improving operational efficiency and safety.
Knowledge of safety standards, and best practices in industrial facilities.
Mechanically inclined with a strong understanding of industrial equipment and processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with all levels of operations personnel.
Proficiency in using process control systems (DCS, PLC, etc.) and HMI interfaces.
Ability to read and write in English
Ability to acquire and retain all necessary safety certifications
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 2+ years of experience in a control room or similar operational role in a production or manufacturing facility
Systems: Oracle

Cambriaâs starting hourly range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00. Hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
