Proactively create appropriate strategies to manage and optimise the group鈥檚 tax position, which are compliant with the Group Tax Strategy and with the KPIs of the tax team. Manage the approval and implementation of such strategies, including coordinating and clear communication with key decision makers and stakeholders, relevant functions within the business and external advisers.
Lead the business partner relationship with the International businesses in the US, Europe, Australia and Latin America to ensure compliance with local tax laws and group tax strategy, to monitor transfer pricing policies, and to identify current and potential and issues for the business.
Lead and manage transfer pricing tax audits and litigation within the International businesses to appropriately support and defend the group鈥檚 tax position and to recommend a strategy for closure of outstanding issues.
Maintain a current knowledge of international tax developments and proactively disseminate the impact of proposed changes to relevant stakeholders. Model the tax impact of proposed legislative changes and propose and implement mitigating solutions compliant with the Group Tax Strategy.
Work closely and manage the relationship with external tax advisors and lawyers across multiple jurisdictions on transactions and projects to ensure that the group鈥檚 goals are delivered in a timely manner.
Liaise with relevant trade bodies, competitors and professional bodies to keep abreast of industry issues and opportunities, technical and case law developments.
Provision of training to Tax/ Finance teams on new TP developments/ potential impact on the execution of TP policies
Operations
Assist with the year-end TP adjustments to ensure that the group鈥檚 profit by territory is appropriately recognised within the consolidated accounts.
Assist with audit queries and transfer pricing provisions to be recognised in the group鈥檚 consolidated and entity accounts.
Working alongside the finance controllers, review local statutory profitability against benchmarked support to ensure accuracy in the accounts.
Assisting with the setting of pricing and intercompany cost allocations and recharges.
Business partnering
Work collaboratively within the International Tax team, in particular with other Transfer Pricing Managers, and other key decision makers within the business to help to design, develop, promote and deliver a robust international transfer pricing strategy and governance framework across the group.
Building key stakeholder relationships to stay abreast of commercial changes both immediate as well as progressive within the business to ensure Transfer Pricing documentation stays up to date.
Respond to technical and operational queries raised by the international businesses and within the finance community.
Identify longer term strategic actions that can be taken to manage the group鈥檚 transfer pricing and transfer pricing compliance.
