The Electrical Specialist Engineer’s main function is to ensure that the power systems in the Waste to Energy plant are operated and maintained in a stable and safe way with the local teams.
The generator fleet comprises 2 GE 11kV steam turbo-generators and one 11kv emergency diesel generator.
The role includes but is not limited to:
Providing technical advice/expertise to the local teams
Diagnosing electrical faults, conducting root cause analysis, and performing necessary repairs to restore operations quickly and safely
Analyzing Commtrade Files in case of fault events (such as island mode)
Analysing single line diagrams and electrical schematics during troubleshooting and maintenance.
Providing recommendation to the management and operations team(s)
Liaising with vendors, operations and maintenance teams in the planning of power system maintenance
High voltage maintenance shutdown planning and coordination, including isolation planning
Updating maintenance procedures, and preparing new procedures as required
The Electrical Specialist Engineer will need to be deeply involved in the maintenance of power system assets; switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, relays, station battery chargers etc.
