The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician inspects, maintains, repairs and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plant and/or pump stations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Repair, maintain, install, replace, troubleshoot and diagnose various machinery and mechanical equipment such as: Centrifuge,pumps, conveyors, hydraulic press, dewatering press, belts, fans utilizing hand tools and testing instruments;
- Able to troubleshoot VFD’s alarms.
- Inspect completed repairs and recommend appropriate solution;
- Perform all work with strict adherence to all applicable safety legislation and procedures;
- Estimates time and material costs on electrical and mechanical projects;
- Requisition supplies and materials as required and approved by management;
- Work from engineering drawings rough sketches, manuals or verbal instruction and install equipment to diagram specifications;
- Complete work orders as required and ensures appropriate follow-up communication;
- Clean and lubricate equipment, parts and machinery;
- Maintain equipment in proper operating condition;
- Assist co-workers with any questions or issues regarding task completion.
