PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING
路 Remain proficient in all aspects of course or curricula content, learning outcomes, and assessment activities to achieve course goals.
路 Teach courses as assigned within the maximum number of contact hours allowed
路 Demonstrate skill and knowledge in the teaching discipline
路 Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different techniques, including distance education in teaching.
路 Aid in planning, development, and maintenance of program curriculum
路 Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course goals; inform students promptly of their progress.
路 Submit required program reports and forms to program or course managers promptly
路 Maintain continuing education (CE) hours to ensure renewed OT or OTA licensure
路 Maintain student records of attendance or skill competency documents as needed.
路 Partner with the program director or department chair to resolve student appeals
路 Attend faculty meetings at the cadence determined by the program director or department chair
路 Engage and document participation in professional development and in-service training for learning management systems, pedagogy, and education teaching methodologies.
路 Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, and the community
路 Maintain compliance with policies and procedures within the employee handbook, program handbooks (as applicable), and department directives.
路 Coordinate and balance the needs of a diverse student population.
STUDENT RETENTION MANAGEMENT
路 Maintain an inclusive college environment that celebrates and promotes understanding and respect for a diverse student body, academic staff, and community.
路 Manage student retention with data-informed strategies to achieve accreditor benchmarks and college budget/metrics
路 Participate in local student retention initiatives
路 Manage communication processes to identify and respond to at-risk students.
