We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager to drive strategic engagement and revenue growth within our Audience Measurement Commercial sector in Japan. This pivotal role focuses on cultivating strong relationships and expanding our business with both existing regional clients and new opportunities across the evolving landscape of platforms, digital clients, advertisers, and agencies.
As an integral part of our Asia team, you will be responsible for building robust go-to-market strategies and tailored account plans, developing a strong sales pipeline, and executing clear conversion plans to consistently meet quarterly revenue targets. You'll contribute to sharing best practices across markets and driving cross-country engagements for international customers. Your success, and that of the team, will be measured by significant revenue growth and increased client penetration within these critical segments.
Driving Growth & Strategy
As a core member of the Enterprise Growth Team, you will be instrumental in expanding our footprint and achieving ambitious revenue targets:
Strategic Sales Planning: Collaborate with leadership on developing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plans, identifying significant growth opportunities within existing and new client groups.
Revenue Generation: Consistently achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets through proactive contract renewals, strategic upselling, and aggressive new business development.
Market Leadership: Partner with the Marketing team to execute the annual media plan that elevates Nielsen's brand presence, generating a high volume of qualified sales leads.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong internal relationships across various business units and verticals to leverage expertise, identify synergistic opportunities, and facilitate successful sales conversions.
Deal Leadership: Take a lead role in developing compelling proposals and pitches, often with senior leadership involvement, to secure key accounts.
Independent Sales Execution: Drive daily sales activities, meticulously tracking opportunities and pipeline progress, and providing weekly reports on performance.
Competitive Strategy: Support the development and implementation of competitive sales pricing and marketing strategies.
Long-Term Client Value: Contribute to identifying and implementing mid-to-long-term strategies that deepen client relationships and proactively address evolving industry requirements.
Product Launch & Adoption: Support the marketing and roll-out strategy for new product introductions, ensuring successful adoption within the industry.
Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in ad tech, market research, and media, proposing continuous refinements to current processes and approaches.
Innovation & Efficiency: Contribute actively to the overall team plan by generating innovative ideas for revenue generation and/or cost savings.

You will be responsible for building and nurturing strong client partnerships, ensuring maximum value delivery:
Client Relationship & Partnership Development: Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with clients and key industry stakeholders, identifying and nurturing mutually beneficial partnership opportunities.
Solution Expertise & Presentation: Develop a profound understanding of Nielsen's audience measurement and other relevant solutions to offer holistic insights, creating and delivering clear, compelling presentations that unify diverse media solutions into an impactful Nielsen story.
Service Alignment & Product Feedback: Collaborate with Nielsen teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and initial service delivery, and provide valuable feedback to product and operational teams for service enhancements aligned with client needs and market opportunities.
Strategic Portfolio Collaboration: Collaborate with regional/global commercial, product, and marketing teams to ensure the right portfolio of solutions is available to clients in the near and medium term.
Client Intelligence: Maintain accurate, complete, up-to-date, and insightful client business profiles for internal sharing with senior management.
