Roles and Responsibilities
Managing and performing inspection of Valve Testing.
Identification of materials, Proper protection of piping and fittings. Verify proper size and schedule of pipe, rating of flanges, proper flange face and fittings.
Inspecting the prefabrication works including the inspection of incoming materials, material handling, heat number transfer, Fit up, reinforced pad test, orientation and flush grinding of orifice flange.
Inspect piping just before erection to verify that interior is clear of foreign materials. Check edge preparation and fit ups to verify that areas to be welded are free of contaminant.
Check flow direction arrows on valves; verify that the properly identified valves are installed in accordance with the flow diagram.
Check and assure that all joints are exposed for examination during pressure test. Ensure that isolation or disconnection of equipment not to be tested. Check vents are open when filling and draining line.
Confirm repairs, re-testing, and re-inspection in accordance with specifications.
Verification of closed punch items and conduct walk through for each completed piping system prior to mechanical acceptance.
Valve Testing (Seat Test and Shell Test) of ball, gate, globe, plug, butterfly, control valves.
PZV testing includes Pop-Up Test, Seat leak test and back pressure test.
Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
Prepare / Review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such are Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Approval Request (MAR).
Prepare / Review / Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP and managing Matrix).
Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly.
Performing and coordinating inspection with client.
Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.
Review and track material submittals required for all Valves of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
